Dear Black Men . . .

Dear Black Men, 

Where are we in fight for Black women? 

We have spent too much time on things that haven't helped us to protect Black people in America. 

A start to protecting Black lives in America is to begin an economic agenda Black men support for the betterment of our race. 

We can no longer be unaware of the role we play in the economic divide within our communities. 

Too many of Black men are still building wealth for white Americans while our people are dying. As Dr. Claud Anderson details in PowerNomics, what are we doing to build wealth for all Black Americans? Not just the Black elite or Talented Tenth.  

Black men can't stand for anything until we stand for ALL Black lives! 

More Black men should stand up and that protect ALL Black children lives, Black women lives, Black men lives, Black LGBTQ lives and the lives of Black people.  

We have to stop the judgement and condemnation of our own people. Because if all Black lives don't matter to Black men, then we're fighting a losing battle.  

It's time out for us upholding the oppressive actions taught to us by white conservatives and mainstream white America. 

Black men in entertainment i.e. sports, rappers and comedians have benefitted from their art/talent/gifts. Rap and hip hop culture, hypermasculinity in Black men has made it allowed for Black men to freely pimp the pain and hurt of Black women. 

This culture attributes to this miseducation of Black youth while condemning Black LGBTQ lives with derogatory words created by the same people who called us "niggers"!  

James Baldwin spoke about "The Nigger" that Black men help create! The narrative on Black men in the media isn't just that we are "thugs", "dead beat dads" and "criminals". It also reflects us as sell outs, coons and womanizers. If you don't fit the behaviors BUT condone them, then you Black man are the problem too! 

Our purposeful looking away of the atrocities happening to Black lives must stop!

Turning a blind eye poverty, in fighting, gang wars, colorism, sexism, child abuse, elderly abuse, spousal abuse that's taking place right in front of us must stop. 

Black men have accepted the abuse, trauma, neglect, hurt, pain and killings of our Black people and our silence has attributed to it. Just like we tell white allies, Black men also cannot afford to silent in these times! 

When President Trump said on National TV to white supremist and the Proud Boys to stand down and stand by, Black men should have been standing up protect all Black lives.     

Instead, Black men who have clout, prestige and large platforms spoke up to protect Trump. The used their voices to praise and support Daniel Cameron's decision not to give justice to a Black woman. Silent about the killings of Black trans women this year who died at the hands of heterosexual Black men. 

Black women, youth, Muslims, LGBTQ have all be on the frontlines every single time a Black man is killed or harmed in America. 

But, too many Black men are silent, compromised and on social media talking as opposed to empowering Black women, educating Black youth, doing our parts to build our communities. 

Black men are compromised too, by gang wars that are killing our own, bad drug deals, poverty and poor educational opportunities.

The abuse towards Black women physically, mentally and emotionally. 

The abuse to Black children through neglect, abandoning families, molestation and trafficking. 

The abuse to Black LGBTQ through the killing of Black trans women at the hands of Black men. 

We can't cry we are the most hated person in the world while resenting the Black lives that are standing in the gaps for us every single day. 

Enough is enough Black men!
