i Got Something to Say . . . about 2020! 

This year has been rough, consistently rough for a lot of us. Like every month there's been something or a series of things that have happened around us or directly to us. But this has also caused more of us to reset our lives.

Many of us have truly been "reclaiming our time" by building, planning, restoring our families, investing, valuing our minds, bodies and souls a little better than we were before the pandemic hit.

i Got Something to Say . . . All Black Lives Matters!

It’s not okay to kill a Black child walking home, a Black woman at home sleep, a Black man leaving his job that Black people too feel it’s okay for the police officers, those with poor ethics, to profile, harass, arrest, shoot and kill Black citizens just cause.

It’s not okay for anyone to hurt, harm, destroy, kill, murder, tear down or apart, disrespect any Black life.

i Got Something to Say. . . We Need Healing in Self, Family and Community!

Many of us are outraged, saddened, frustrated yet still helping take care of the grieving families and doing the work to build up the communities overlooked by many of us who aren’t even living in the communities impacted by generational poverty.

Self care during these times is important.

But we gotta heal yall. This healing has to start within us first. Then we can truly build and see more of our families and communities living in true freedom.

i Got Something to Say . . . U.N.I.T.Y is a necessity of this movement.

We must unite! We must understand that driving an us vs them narrative adds fuel to the fire.

We have to make our ask clear for the masses. "We want to defund police departments by reducing funding for specialized units which by design target Black and brown communities and support!" How do we do this, we need you all to use those funds to invest in creditable community organizations, approved with citizen input, to improve Black and brown communities.

We don’t have to agree on the methods of achieving the goal, but we must unite on the fact that Black lives are disproportionately impacted by racial, economic, social injustices and this must stop.

I salute those on the ground doing the hard-work, sacrificing the little we have to make change for our people. We are connected to this work with our mind, body and souls.

It is my hope that our ancestors who have sought freedom, justice and liberation spirits will continue to empower us. Blessings to the laborers.
