BOOK Continues to Provide Leadership for Better Educational Outcomes!
We have some specific challenges facing us for the 2020-2021 school year in the new COVID-19 educational environment. With the impact of the pandemic, the 2019-2020 school year was brought to a “complete stand still” as it related to how we traditionally deliver the K-12 educational experience.
However we must press forward for better educational outcomes for our children.
What we found, was that the model we’ve relied on for over 100 years, was challenged in ways that we never thought were possible. As we look to “pick up the pieces” and provide educational equity, we believe it’s important to access the damage that has occurred.
As we talk about the efforts made to limit the impact to African American children, we must find ways to develop, design and deliver a world-class education in a post COVID-19 environment. BOOK has asked the leaders of 4 of the largest metro Atlanta school systems, along with the Deputy Superintendent for the state of Georgia, to discuss their views on a path forward.
In this conversation we hope to discuss where we’ve been, where we are, and how we’re planning to grow. We are very excited to have the support of Sheltering Arms and EdChoice as we look to continue to facilitate some important conversation with parents and stakeholders.
