While We Protest Let's Also Invest In Our Historic Black Owned Businesses!

I am using this platform to bring awareness to communal issues happening in Metro Atlanta! 

Currently this blog has featured Black male educators during Profound Gentlemen's story telling series. We have celebrated local graduates and imperative stories of our call to action for social justice. 

Now, I am also giving space to focus on investing and building our communities by uplifting a historic, local Black business in need of our support. It's critically important for us to build up and support small owned Black businesses that have helped to uplift, empower and build up our communities.

One of my classmates reached out to me regarding a historic jewel in Atlanta that is facing severe financial challenges as a result of COVID-19. 

Ponder's Dry Cleaner is a Black owned business in SW Atlanta that is very much needed. It's much needed because our schools and professional organizations are pushing the need for dressing for success in our professional lives. Therefore as a community, must support the businesses helping us to achieve this.  

There's no better place that do support than a Black owned business that has a long history giving us the professional looks we desire by cleaning and pressing our clothes. 

As we protest, we must invest! 

The dry cleaner's have a current go fund me for as a method of support. I also agree with Killer Mike's call to action for the community to come out and support.

Call to Action:

• If you live in SW Atlanta and aren't patronizing this Black owned business help us buy back the block by investing in our own! 
• If you don't live in SW Atlanta but travel frequently, consider switching to Ponder's which is not far from the airport 
• Those with large social media platforms can push the GoFundMe link and advertise Black owned businesses 
• Local independent schools from SW Christian Academy, uniform shops in Greenbriar mall, local churches in Campbellton Rd/Ben Hill/Cascade areas should consider contracting Ponder's
