My Voice Matters: Juneteenth Virtual Celebration
As we're celebrating, there are those of us who are also educating many Americans about this significant holiday; which should be a Nationally recognized holiday.
One organization, It's Our Turn, is sponsoring a virtual celebration for Black American's to celebrate.
Mark your calendars and save the date for June 19th, which is the official Juneteenth Day. Students of Our Turn NC invite you to a virtual conversation and celebration of the change that is upon us.

The core of our country has been shaken. Now, more than ever, is a time to listen for understanding and hear directly from the voices of those most proximate to some of our biggest problems.
Sharika Comfort, Manager of Organizing, is a Black woman who works hand-in-hand with Black and brown students to ensure that they have the best educational experiences possible. She stands in solidarity with students and educators as we assert that Black Lives Matter.
In all systems in this country, our students and their voices matter. Now, more than ever, as our country reels from the impacts of both a global pandemic and a series of racially-motivated injustices, we know that it is time for change. The old systems do not work for our current society and it is up to us to create new ones.
The Juneteenth Chat and Chew Part II: My Voice Matters is going to be powerful. This virtual action is open to all. The organization encourages North Carolina students and teachers.
